Childcare Solicitor / Barrister / Chartered Legal Executive
(Permanent) 2+ years’ PQE.

We are a Greater Manchester firm with an excellent reputation in childcare law. Our busy, friendly, and supportive team of 5 care lawyers (plus secretarial support) is expanding and we would like to hear from you. The role may suit a person seeking part time.

You will be responsible for conducting a varied caseload, the majority of which will be cases in care proceedings, and in the PLO pre-proceedings process. You will have secretarial and paralegal support, as well as enjoying effective collaboration with other members of the team. 

You will have excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills, be able to manage a full caseload and willing to undertake advocacy at the appropriate level.  Applications will be considered from candidates at all levels of experience. PQE above is guideline only. Children Panel membership (or working towards).

Chartered Legal Executives will need to hold the relevant advocacy / litigation rights qualification.

Litigation lawyer: Solicitor. CiLex. Paralegal

As part of our growth plans we seek an ambitious lawyer reporting to a partner to join our leading housing law department dealing with litigated landlord & tenant dispute. Training for the role will be fully provided and for someone who seeks to qualify there is the opportunity for a training contract to qualify as a solicitor. This is a chance for you to shine & progress.

The successful candidate will possess knowledge of court procedures. Relevant will be a background in debt, PI, vehicle, holiday EL claims. A junior lawyer will be ready to take on their own case load under the guidance of a partner. You’ll have the ability to work independently & effectively organise your workload and as a skilled communicator you will feel comfortable liaising with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Manage a claimant caseload via a diary system
  • Prepare & serve notices
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and producing court bundles.
  • Advise clients on legal matters, prospects for successful recovery and assist with overcoming disputes and reasons for non-payment
  • Work with courts, enforcement agencies and other suppliers to ensure high standards of service are maintained at all times
  • Full control & conduct of cases
  • Good organisational skills, enthusiastic & punctual
