Laura’s Work Experience: A Week in the Life of the WTB team

Have you ever thought about what it’s like to work at WTB? College student, Laura, gave it a go and here’s what she has to say about her experiences.

A Week in the Life of the WTB team:

“Over the course of the past week I’ve had a number of opportunities with WTB I don’t think I could have otherwise. I was first introduced to the staff and given a collection of case studies and research points to do throughout the week which helped me to learn about the types of cases often faced here. As I don’t currently study Law these were particularly useful for understanding the foundations of the services provided by the firm.
During my time here I have been shown almost all aspects of life in a Law Career: helping with organising case information and bundles as well as filling out visa applications and sitting in on various client interviews.
I also had the chance to get out of the office and experience what else goes on as part of the job. This included meeting potential Family clients with Olivia, attending court duty with Salim and sitting in on numerous hearings throughout the week. Of particular significance for me was my time spent with Ben in the Civil Justice Centre and Crown Court where I saw just how difficult but exciting organising new, short notice cases can be.
All the staff members at WTB have been incredibly friendly and helpful this week; in particular those I have spent more time with who have given me a fantastic insight into their careers and helped me to understand what their jobs entail.
My time at WTB has really helped me to decide if this is what I would like to do in the future and which path would be best for me. I can’t thank everyone enough for the opportunities I’ve had this week and am incredibly grateful to all the staff for making the week so informative.”

From all the team here at WTB, thank you Laura, it was a pleasure having you.
