International Women’s Day 2016 campaign theme is #PledgeForParity . This day celebrate the contribution that women have done regarding social, economic , cultural and political achievement around the globe

At WTB Solicitors we want to proudly celebrate and recognise the work that women on our staff do for both us and our clients. We want our women to let the world know that regardless the job you do, it is really easy to be a super woman. And here in our firm, 90% of the staff are women.

Today we have talked to Debbie Czapla, one of the secretaries at WTB Solicitors . Find what she has to say below:

What is your position at WTB Solicitors?

Legal Secretary in the Family Department

Explain the variety of tasks that you deal with at work

I work in the Family Department. We deal with various issues including divorce, children issues and financial matters. I mainly type letters, forms and documents. I also take calls from clients and make appointments.  There are occasions when I have helped out in other departments when they have been busy.

What took you into law?

I left school at 18 and wanted a year out before I went to university. I saw the job in a local paper, applied for it and got it! I have been a Legal Secretary ever since!

Since when have you been working at the firm?

I started working here in April 2006 so have been here nearly 10 years.

In this period, what has been the best?

I enjoy working in the Family Department as there is a good variety of work, and it is also nice to know that you are helping people in their day to day lives. I also met my best friend whilst working here too.

Is it easy for you to cope with your work-life balance?

It is quite easy as I am lucky that I am able to start work later in the mornings to enable me to take my daughter to nursery which is great for us both as we get to spend extra time together in the mornings.
